Sunday, Oct. 16, 3p.m. The Wonder of Fair Trade Chocolate: The Humanist Association of Greater Sacramento presents WILPFer Don Knutson, reporting from the Dominican Republic on Fair Trade Chocolate production.
In just one generation, thousands of Dominican cacao farmer's lives have been transformed by Conocado, a producer's cooperative founded by Fair Trade. Vic and Barby Ulmer, long time WILPF members and our developing world co-directors have led 6 Cuba Reality tours. They focus on the people!
Their presentation will show how it is that the United States, the richest country in the world, cannot afford to feed and house our own people, nor provide health care, while Cuba, one of the poorest, can provide all that despite a US-imposed embargo lasting half a century.
