Join members of the Sacramento Branch WILPF on Tuesday, June 12, 6-8pm at the Sactown Union Brewery, 1210 66th St. (Off Folsom Blvd).
We will supply pizzas, postcards, and talking (or writing) points on several issues (we're aiming for three). The topics we're planning for June 12 are:
- Demanding that the US sign the historic Nuclear Ban Treaty
- Support Rent Control
- Support the Sierra Club's "Buy Clean" Campaign. The Buy Clean campaign calls for state agencies to spend taxpayer dollars on supplies for public infrastructure projects in a way that is consistent with the state’s globally recognized climate change goals. This has been adopted (in principle) at the state level; now the project is aiming to make sure it really happens, and to educate and influence local governments to do the same.
