June 12, 1982: Over a million march in NYC against nuclear weapons!
Just over forty years ago about a million people participated in New York — with other demonstrations all around the world! (Here’s one article about it: https://www.armscontrol.org/blog/2018-06-10/fight-continues-reflections-june-12-1982-rally-nuclear-disarmament.)
Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, US Section (WILPF-US) invites us to attend one or both of two free online events on Sunday June 12, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the enormous anti-nuclear demo in Central Park NYC. (More details on those online events below.)
Negotiations now!
Why has the US not tried to re-up or negotiate new anti-nuclear treaties, to seek peace in Ukraine, or to do anything to pull us back from the brink — internationally or in Ukraine? Only the arms manufacturers are “winning”!
Jan. 6 Hearing on Thursday
The Jan. 6 events were just one part of a criminal conspiracy to overturn the will of the voters in the 2020 Presidential elections. The hearings, starting Thurs., June 9, at 5 pm, are a crucial way for the public to get the complete information on this fundamental threat to election outcomes.
