Cost of War Art Project: The Details

The Invitation, Design and_Submission Specifications used for the Cost of War Art Project, October 2010.

We're looking for artists who can envision incorporating into their artwork specific information about the effects of the cost of war on Sacramento. Your own creative take on the cost of war can be simple. It can be funny. It can be deep. We're not looking for images that trigger or create trauma. While we know the cost of social, psychological and medical trauma, our focus in this project is on the financial cost of war in relation to the cuts in jobs and public services in Sacramento.

This project is open to all; there is no entry fee. Feel free to team up with a friend on any part of this project.

NEW Submission Deadline: midnight Friday, October 1, 2010.  By this time we should have received a JPEG or TIFF or photo of your work, with a brief description including its dimensions and weight.  Send by email to wilpf@nicetechnology.com,  or mail to WILPF, 9629 Bradhugh Ct., Sacramento, CA 95827.

Sunday, October 3, 3:30-6:30pm: bring your artwork to the Sol Collective gallery, 2574 21st St., Sacramento (back gallery).

October 9 - October 27, 2010: Artwork that is accepted will be on display in the Sol Collective gallery. The show opening and Artists' Reception will be on Saturday, October 9 (Second Saturday), 6-9pm.

We hope to accept all entries that meet the guidelines.  Works that are sold will be displayed by the buyer for six months in a publicly accessible location.
